Do you have an answer to the “Why Canada?” Question?

It may sound stupid and somewhat obvious, but it’s not. Most of the people I interviewed for the past weeks and was asked this question had a hard time  finding the answer.

Some people just wants to get out of their countries. They are sick and tired of leaving under economic and political regimes they do not agree with.

Those are the ones that are here, but could be somewhere else. Australia for instance.

The thing is that having a proper answer to this question is one of the keys to success. If you know what you want and why you want it, be sure you will easily find the way to get it. It may not be easy, it may take years but it will come. As far as you do not give up.

Don’t laugh at me. But I did not have a clear answer for that either when I started my papers back in 2003. I was in that group of people looking to flee their country to find a better society. One where I could feel more comfortable with. It could’ve been Australia, but I am here. And I love it.

Why I came to Canada, is your question? it was a win-win situation. Back in the days, Canada needed people like me, with a family like mine and professional experience like mine. For me, the barrier was not that high and it was affordable. I was also in conditions of doing all the paperwork myself. It was the perfect situation to get the f… out of Argentina, where I was bored of falling and having to start over every 5 to 7 years!

What about you? Would you answer me this question? leave a comment and let us know Why do you want to come to Canada and What does coming to Canada mean for you!

I’d like to come to Canada for 5 good reasons

1 financial stability; im quite tired of always rationing, because my take home pay cant take me home
2 Security; There’s Bombings everywhere in my country, and no job is certain
3 Recognition’; In my country you are not recognized if you arent rich and you can only be rich if your father is rich, or maybe venture into crime or sumn
4 Fortune; Im used to not being opportunistic and always not having enough. I’d like to see how far i can get in a world of a little opportunity. maybe just maybe my hunger would bring me good fortune through hardwork

There are many reasons to come here as an immigrant. These are following:
1.There are politics in every place(University, job place etc.) in my country.
2.If you are honest then you will not get promotion in job
3.If you can talk english then you will get good job but problem is that upto college level the teaching method is not english. What a contradictory system!
4.Our resources are not distributed among the people. So some people are too reach and some are too poor.Though there are too much illegal money.
5.If someone gets good result from good university then their attitude like they know everything. There are too much attitude problem in every sector.etc.

Its not only for success but sometimes for survival, for escaping from pollution. In my case, I will try to migrate due to my son. He has been suffering from some medical problem since 2 years which is related with environmental pollution, dust etc. As most of you may aware that the level of pollution in some third world countries are enormous due to over population, rapid urbanization. If we want to survive, we have no way to stay in the gas chamber.

I am one of these persons who don’t really have an answer! A strong incentive for me to stay was the possibility of immigrating, getting permanent residence status and eventually citizenship. I’m grateful programs existed, I wouldn’t have liked living in a country as an expat–I wanted to belong.

    Yesterday I arrived in Canada,
First most important thing which I found that local people do not have biased attitude against others.
Secondly Canadian government has developed a very fair and transparent system for serving their people, which is not case in Pakistan, where every one is busy abusing others,i.e. Government officials are abusing to common,One party is abusing other political party, one majority ethnic group is abusing other weak ethnic group.
Industrialist are abusing their labours,Feudals are abusing field workers.
Canada has great resources and system, due to which Canada is able to attract skilled and established people.
If other countries want to make their countires properous like Canada and USA, first of all they will have to develop a fair system as per desires and wishes of their people, secondly they should develop attractive policies for encouraging people having skilles like Einstein and Dr, Abdus salam to migrate or to stay to their countries because without patriotic people no country of the world can survive, and without fair sharing of bread and resources no one can become patriotic, the scenario which we are observing Pakistan, where there is no system and no justice with any one, where even Prime Minster and President are complaining they are victims of false corruption, but question is if they can not protect themselves against fake cases, what will be the condition of common people.

Is Canada the land of dreams as visualized by many new immigrants? I intend to reach here by end July. I believe that the oppression of state and society that we experience will not be in Canada. Having said that it is natural for humans to display some sort of discrimination for the people belonging to their own color, culture and ethnic group. Through education, training, laws & codes modern states/societies discourage this. I think that in Canada state and society allow individual freedoms, try to provide a level playing field (which is not so in most developing countries) for all where talent can prosper.

I want to migrate to Canada mainly because i want to leave my own country. And i want to leave my country, Bangladesh, because of the following reasons:

    1. Safety and security: Everyday i leave home with huge uncertainty whether i would be attacked, mugged or raped on the street. How do i secure my apartment to make it theft-proof? Everyday i return home thinking that there might be a burglar inside my apartment or the door-lock is broken and everything is stolen.

    2. Independence: I want to get rid of narrow minded people here in my country and want some freedom. I don’t want people to ask me about my personal life after 3 minutes of introduction and I don’t want people to poke nose in my life.

    3. Environmental stressors: As someone mentioned before, i also want to escape from pollution. I have been suffering from itchy cough due to dust allergy, no treatment works for me and my doctor told me that as long as i am in Bangladesh (Dhaka), i can’t be fully cured. Another thing i hate here is traffic jam, you never reach anywhere on time, you need to start 2 hours ahead to reach a place that takes only 30 minutes. Sitting in traffic for 2 hours gives me migraine headache. Then you can’t eat anything as each and every food is contaminated. The list may go on….

Safety, Indepence and enviromental issues are basically the top factors that determines if life is worth while or not!. Hey sister, I say: “The good Lord will see you through”
