Immigration to Canada 2012: What to expect

Post image for Immigration to Canada 2012: What to expect

I’ve been talking to my good friend and immigration advisor Yves Martineau about what does he think will happen in 2012 in Canadian Immigration.

He has some interesting thoughts and leads that, may be, could end up happening.

If you are planning your Canadian immigration for 2012, this is what you could expect for this year:

So, in a nuthsell:

  • The Mexico office of Immigration Quebec will take care of all the paperwork for Latin America and the Caribbean.
  • The Federal Skilled Worker plan and the Quebec Nomination Program will raise the bar for the language skills.
  • You can expect changes to the list of Occupations in demand for October.
  • There’s a chance to see some changes in the future for the regulated professions.

There are not bad news. It’s good to see that they are taking some measures to make things work better for everyone in the future.

You can visit Yves website at www.artim.ca and his English blog.

Leave us a comment telling us what do you think of these predictions for 2012. Also, you can leave us a comment with your thoughts on the video and,if you liked the video chat idea, what other subjects would like us to talk about?

Thank you sir fro this video and for these predictions to 2012

but I am wondering no one even CIC is talking about backlog pre c-50

could you tell me please your prediction to those who applied before Feb 2008

Thank you in advance and happy new year 2012

Mr.G January 5, 2012 at 5:18 pm

That’s a good question for Yves! I’ll let him know

Yves Martineau January 5, 2012 at 7:27 pm

Hi Ramy!

Here I would refer to the Annual Report on Immigration – 2011 http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/pub/annual-report-2011.pdf

I would say that there is light at the end of the tunnel, but waiting time should be of still about 2 more years. Page 3 of the report says ” The year 2011 marks a significant milestone when we cut the backlog of old pplications in half two years ahead of schedule”.

Page 7 says “While wait times have and will continue to rise for applicants under the first set of Ministerial Instructions of november 2008, this temporary situation will subside as the inventory of some 136,000 people under this stream is processed over the next two years.”

I wish you to be among those whose file are processed. If you qualify under the current federal skilled worker program it is possible to apply – even if you have another file queued – and you are likely to receive a decision within 10 months.

Happy New Year!

Thank a lot for your fast reply Mr.G and Mr.Martineau

I think that Mr.kenney will never process our files pre c-50.
The feeling of unfair and unjust treatment kill every power I have.
I did the IELTS for 5 times to get the suitable score and now after waiting for so long my IELTS is expired and to reapply for new application that mean I have to do a new one.

Unfortunately I paid a lot of money to( lawyer, IELTS, courses to learn English and translation fees of my all documents )All of that have been lost in waiting this illusion dream to happen.

You know sir I sometimes fell very sad that I thought one day to immigrate to Canada particularly when I see all my life’s plans have stopped for this dream.

I am sorry to tell you all of this history and to depress you and waste your time ,but I feel good after telling you that.

Please accept my appologise for any inconvenience and I am really appreciate your kidness and your wonderful reply.

Thank you again and hope to both of you all the best and success.

Best wishes.
Ramy.

Thanks for sharing anyways!

No need to apologize Ramy. As they say, better out than in, I mean, it is good only to be heard and I can totally understand your frustration. On the contrary I thank you for sharing your thoughts.

I still believe that your waiting, efforts, investment and perseverance will bear fruit before long. I send you loads of great energy and my best wishes!
